NBC's Matt Lauer~~~~~Where in the world are you?

I am extremely disappointed in you! Your interview with Mrs. Madoff an eyeopener about your character. Your question to her concerning her attempt at suicide was an inhuman low blow. "If you wanted to commit suicide you coulda/woulda/shoulda jumped from your high rise building instead of the choice you made." Not your words but what was meant nevertheless. Really a cruel and unfeeling thing to say. Granted you are given the questions to ask but there comes a time in your career when saying 'no' can make an extreme difference in where you come from. I always have put you up there with 'kings'. What a disappointment, you are down with us peons now. It was a good awakening for me, THANK YOU!

Anyone have an opinion on this?

I saw the interview. I don't remember how I ended up watching it, since watching media "interviewers" poking sharp questions into a victim to find just that tender nerve that will make her cry is not exactly my tankard of grog. Matt Lauer long ago placed himself near the bottom of my list of impressive people, so I can't say he sank below my expectations. Basically, I tuned him out. Mrs. Madoff did impress me. I can't understand why she would agree to such an interview, but she did, and she answered the most personal questions with grace and honesty and maintained her composure throughout. She seemed the kind of woman who will have made true friends who will have stood by her through the ordeal. I was also impressed by her son; I hope he finds a way to overcome his bitterness towards his father. Never is a long time.

I've always loved Matt so it was a crush to my feelings for him. His brother killed himself over what his father and the people did to the family and he didn't speak to his mother for years because she stood by her husband. It took her son giving his life for her to leave him. It's all so sad what people have done to them. I don't believe they were at all knowledgeable to what he was doing. I saw the original interview and whoever it was was respectful to them and then I saw just a very short part of Matts interview the worse part I guess. It is really bad what people can do to victims because of what the media produces about them. Thanks for your comment!
